Vintage Machine-O-Matic "Talking Vendor" Gumball Machine Henry Ford Illinois from 1928 to 19321984; Machine O Matic (now Beaver Vending) Newmarket, ON, Canada Early 1980s gumball vending machine designed and patented by Ken McPhail in 1981. The "Talking Vendor" line were machines that featured a small turntable that activates upon turning the hand wheel. This particular model features a clown motif and voiceover. The voice mechanism still works, however it is a bit hard to understand save for a laugh at the end. From research we were able to
