Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Kriegsmarine style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, with a central U Boat set across the badge on a hollow background, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but with the characteristics of manufacture by an
