Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Grand Duchy. A 1914 War Merit Cross II Class Auction mid 1800’s period manufacture(Militr Verdienstkreuz II. Klasse 1914). 28 February 1915 by Grand Duke Friedrich Franz IV. Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Patte with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central monogram of Grand Duke Friedrich Franz IV, the six oclock arm with a date of 1914, the twelve oclock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with an inscription of FR AUSZEICHNUNG IM KRIEGE (FOR EXCELLENCE
